Study of historic plucked instruments at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Eugen Dombois and Hopkinson Smith, later at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe with Juergen Huebscher; visiting student at the Institute of Musicology of the University of Basel with Prof. Dr. Wulf Arlt.

1984
Marriage with Marianne Troester (children Katja 1984 and Michael 1989). Since 1987 guitar teacher at several music schools in the cantons of Solothurn and Aargau.

1989/90
Work on the CD "Schweizer Lautenmusik - Lautenmusik aus Schweizer Handschriften" (Swiss lute music - lute music from Swiss manuscripts) (from the research on the sources until the recording and writing of the booklet). Cooperation with Linard Bardill.

1990-97
Head of the music school of Reinach (canton of Aargau) and work in the educational affairs in the executive board of the union of the music schools in the canton of Aargau. Development and realization of an Ensemble concept concert at the music school Reinach.
Development of the sector U- and chamber music (the dialect rock band Deteil originated here!) as well as other general musical courses. By means of these courses as well as the elementary school and the ensembles of the music school, the performance of Ruedi Debrunners "De wiiss Elefant" (The white elephant) took place in 1996 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the music school Reinach.

Foundation of the publishers "The Lute Corner A.Schlegel"

Move to the new address and setting up of the recording studio

Expansion of the studio productions Completion of the three-volume guitar lessons

Coordination and project management for the 7th European Youth Music Festival (May) in the region Aarau / Wynental. Head of the mixed ensemble of the music school Menziken.
